Fergus Falls Public Schools
Bond Referendum
Vote November 5th, 2024
Adams Elementary - 85 Year Old Building
Built in 1939
McKinley Elementary - 85 Year Old Building
Built in 1939
Dear Fergus Falls Voters:
In 1939, FDR was president, the world was on the verge of WWII, and Fergus Falls opened Adams and McKinley schools. The schools have served the community for 85 years, but teaching and learning has evolved and the facilities are now inadequate for meeting the needs of our students.
The conservative choice is to replace these obsolete schools in Fergus Falls.
Obsolete schools: Adams and McKinley schools, built in 1939, need a combined $16 million in maintenance and repairs to keep them viable, but even then the buildings still would not meet state standards for space, design and safety.
Conservative choice: The most cost-effective solution to meet student needs is a new facility that prepares students for 21st century jobs. At a low cost to taxpayers, the district can continue its long-term plan of modernizing facilities to create safe, secure, effective learning environments.
This website has been updated to include much more information about what is planned if the bond is approved. Please see the downloadable fact sheet below.
